About Alyson Vamvoras

Alyson is a solo practitioner in Lake Charles, La, and also acts “of counsel” at the Law Office of John Green, Jr. Alyson handles a variety of cases, mainly in the areas of child custody/divorce, but also criminal defense and personal injury/civil rights. Alyson has been recognized as one of the top attorneys in family law and criminal defense and has been chosen as a Super Lawyers “rising star” for multiple consecutive years. Alyson also has a passion for animal welfare and is one of a handful of attorneys who practices animal law in the State of Louisiana. Alyson is a lifelong Lake Charles resident, briefly moving to Baton Rouge while attending Louisiana State University as an undergraduate, where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in history. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Southern University Law Center in 2010. During law school, Alyson was a two-time recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Writing. She is admitted to practice in all State courts of Louisiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. She is certified as a divorce and family law mediator, and a past instructor at Delta Tech School of Business and Technology. She is a member of: The Rotary Club of Lake Charles, the American Association of Premier DUI Attorneys, The Louisiana State Bar Association, the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association Young Lawyers Section (past board Member, President-Elect 2017, and President 2018), the SWLA Bar Association Women’s Section (Former Vice President), SWLA Bar Association Family Law Section, Chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Animal Law Section, Board member of the Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA, and chosen as one of Thrive Magazine’s “13 Thriving 30-somethings” in 2017.
